Almost three years ago I had the chance to explore some of the rural areas of Navarro County, Texas. I came across many abandoned homesteads and a few that still had the original farm houses that was built over a 100 years ago. During my explore I came across an abandoned farm house and old Ford Fairlane sitting in the barn.

When I first discovered this old farm house, I wasn’t planning to stop but as I drove past, I noticed an old Ford Fairlane nose sticking out of the barn! At that point I became very interested in the story of the old house. The house was built somewhere between the 4os and the 60s I think. It could have been older but the siding is from that era.

A few months later I made another trip to the area when the weather cooled off and the bugs and weeds died back. When I arrived on site I noticed the property was cut back but nothing else had changed. I tried to track down the neighbors but no one was around to ask about the owners.

During the growing season the property was surrounded by cotton fields  and the property had old farming implements and couple old trucks parked where they died.

I haven’t been able to find any information about the house or the car. I can’t even remember where the house and car is located. All of the notes for that time period were lost during our last move.

If you know anything about this old house please let us know. Please do not share its location publically but contact us. We are wanting to reach out to the owners to learn more.

About the Images

The images were shot by hand with my Sony NEX-3N and a Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8. The purplish shots were were at dusk just before the storms arrived. The later set was during the middle of the day and overcast. I then edited them in Adobe Lightroom. I then post processed some of the images with Topaz Clarity  and Google NIK collection to add texture, brighten the images, and bring out the details in the image. Then removed the dust spots and rain spots. As always our images are available for purchase. Please contact us for details.
